but a tiny bit of your lunchtime conversation, a remark you may have
made on the bus or street corner might have helped the enemy. Tiny
scraps of conversation, seemingly unimportant in themselves, can be
pieced together like a jigsaw puzzle - until the pieces fit - until
the knowledge of our plans aids the enemy.
The sinister
spies of movies and fiction are rare, but in their place are enemy
sympathizers, patient, pains-

people - piecing together scraps of information - watching our plans
slowly take shape.
WHAT
DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH US? Just this. Ordinary little
facts about our ships could supply the missing pieces in the jigsaw
puzzle.
If you see or hear anything about our cargo ships, tankers, and
aircraft carriers, don't repeat it. Don't endanger lives by repeating
information that you may receive in personal letters from overseas.
These may be the missing pieces the enemy needs.
